Jinvani is an offline reader of Jain texts, designed and developed by Sarthak Jain (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Jinvani app on Android or iOS.
In short: Jinvani does not collect, store on any server, share or sell any personal information. Everything stays on your device.
Information we collect
None. Jinvani has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app does not use the internet: all texts, fonts and notes are included in the app itself.
Information stored on your device
To remember your preferences, the app saves the following only on your device:
- Settings such as language, theme, colour, font, text size and line spacing
- Texts you mark as favourites
- Collections you create, with their names and the order of texts
This information is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can clear favourites from Settings, and uninstalling the app deletes all of it. On Android and iOS, your device’s own backup feature may include this data in your personal device backup, which is governed by Google’s or Apple’s policies.
Permissions
The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files or any other personal data. The optional “keep screen on while reading” setting only stops the screen from dimming while a text is open.
Links and sharing
- Share this app: opens your device’s share sheet with a link to the app’s store page. You choose whether and where to send it; the app itself sends nothing.
- “Read more” links in a text’s notes open Wikipedia in your web browser. Once you leave the app, that website’s own privacy policy applies.
Third-party services
Jinvani does not include any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services.
Children
Jinvani is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how information is handled (for example by adding optional features that need the internet), we will update this policy and its effective date before that version is released, and describe the change in the store listing.
